The Michael Berman Gotham Series pays homage to American metropolis’ like New York City and their role in setting the pace for “sky-reaching” architecture in the early 19th century. The Series mixes a blend of Art Deco and “Streamline Moderne” influences, evoking the style of structures like the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building and RCA Building at Rockefeller Center. The skyscrapers of Manhattan marked the summit of the Art Deco style; they became the tallest and most recognizable modern buildings in the world – and were a key influence of the Michael Berman Gotham Series.
